#04 Andromeda Galaxy

Andromeda, also known as Messier 31 (M31), is a spiral galaxy about 2.5 million light-years away. The Andromeda Galaxy is visible to the naked eye from Earth. It is so bright that it is even visible from areas with moderate light pollution. Our Milky Way and Andromeda will collide and will merge to form a giant elliptical galaxy beginning about 4 billion years from now.

Andromeda, auch bekannt als Messier 31 (M31), ist eine Spiralgalaxie in etwa 2,5 Millionen Lichtjahren Entfernung. Die Andromedagalaxie ist von der Erde aus mit bloßem Auge sichtbar. Sie ist so hell, dass sie sogar von Gebieten mit mäßiger Lichtverschmutzung aus sichtbar ist. Unsere Milchstraße und Andromeda werden zusammenstoßen und in etwa 4 Milliarden Jahren zu einer riesigen elliptischen Galaxie verschmelzen.
